![]() ![]() My typical formation is a crescent, with an outshell of 5 spears, gaps between each, and 4 swords just a bit behind the gaps. It greatly reduces the damage from enemy missiles and cavalry, which both the Sassanids and the Huns bring in abundance. Your army probably should be played in a particular defensive style, capitalising on the defensive testudo that your infantry can employ. ![]() (c) they allow you to destroy the towers in forts and unwalled settlements that otherwise would cause heavy losses on you. (b) they allow you to attack a walled city on turn 1 without siege. (a) they make the enemy army come to me if they don't have an onager (and the #1 priority of my garrison scouts is to kill all AI onagers). ![]() Eastern Armored legio are a good upgrade, but otherwise it looks fine to me. ![]()
